We'd really like a sweet snuggle with a fluffy critter right now. It's cold outside, and we'd appreciate the combination of being hugged by a floofy animal + the body heat exchange it creates. Anyone who has a pet knows it firsthand - a hug from your dog, for example, can be better than a working fireplace. Hugging an animal in winter is a prime source for warmth, and metaphorical heartwarmth as well. It's the pawrfect combination. It's like a bear hug for your soul.

Some of you might have dogs to cuddle with. Some of you might be cat pawrents, petting your snuggled cat on your lap. Some of you might raise ruckus raccoons, because these trash pandas start showing signs of domestication (honestly, look it up). Being a pet pawrent is an amazing thing to be all year round, but in winter? It's the best. Seriously, the heartwarming it provides can't be compared to anything else. Even if you raise some arguably non-huggable animals, like snakes or chickens, it's still such a delight to have them near you. Animals just tend to do that.

  • Smol? Smol? How could anyone taking one look at this capybara describe it as “smol”? This is a gigantic sphere of noms, with floofy fur on the outside, enjoying a warm bath like he owns the spa place. That's an amazing creature. “Smol” is not one of his descriptions, but words like “Adorable”, “Iconic”, and a “Role Model” are definitely ones we'd use when seeing this magnificent being. Capybaras are simply the best.

  • Man… capybaras! They can really be friends with anyone. It's like they are the cill pill of the animal kingdom. Does this capybara care that this alligator, an apex predator, is sitting this close to him? Nah, he doesn't mind. He's cool. They're friends, just chilling on the riverbank, enjoying a patch of sun.
